Pope's child porn 'normal' claim sparks outrage

It seems that someone might have let the Pope out unsupervised and he's taken the opportunity to express his opinions again. Clearly his handlers and PR people aren't doing their job but does anyone still believe he has any sort of moral authority? Here is a short quote from his Christmas speech:

"In the 1970s, paedophilia was theorised as something fully in conformity with man and even with children"

Awful. With leadership like this it's hardly surprising the Catholic Church hasn't been able to respond sensibly to the crisis engulfing it.

Nice. I like the idea of mocking people who carelessly endanger the lives of others to advance their own careers; it seems strangely appropriate.
